Rob and the team love the challenge of making old cars new again. It gives them a sense of pride that you just don't get from clearing codes in mom's Camry. While it's very important to get mom's O2 sensors functioning properly again, the feeling that you get when you hear that V8 with the four-barrel carburetor roar can't be beaten, at least not to those of us who love cars!. Antique, Vintage and Classic Car Restoration and Preservation ​
There are very few shops anywhere in the country willing to take on the daunting task of antique automobile repair, but Rob’s Automotive is ready, willing and able to restore your classic! In fact, we specialize in the restoration of vintage cars and trucks! We’ve been building and prepping antiques for participation in The Great Race for more than a decade. Rob’s Automotive has built 11 vintage cars for this cross-country endurance race and every one of them completed the race! Custom Wiring
There is no better place to get your custom wiring solutions than at Rob's Automotive Shop. One of our specialties is six-to-12-volt system conversions. If you have an older vehicle with a 6-volt system and you don't need to keep it 100% original, there is no better way to upgrade your car than to convert it to 12 volts. Here is an interesting article in Hemmings that explains much of the "how" and "why" of 12-volt conversions.

If you want to enjoy modern conveniences, such as air conditioning, power windows or door locks, halogen, LED or xenon lighting, even a nice stereo system, you will need to upgrade the original six-volt system.

Customizing Trucks
Pickup trucks ate a very important part of our business. While we perform many services on trucks, just as we do cars, there are a few that are exclusive to pickups and SUVs. The most-common truck specialty is lift kits. We install these for off-road vehicles to help drivers with ground clearance and grip (with larger wheels and tires).

We also install tonneau covers on pickup trucks. A tonneau allows you to keep your load private and prevent it from blowing out onto the highway. These are well worth the investment if you want to keep the items that you haul in your bed. Call us for a price and time estimate at 508-943-0009.

Air Conditioning
Rob’s Automotive is one of the most unique automotive repair shops in all of New England. The reason is simple: We embrace the jobs that others run away from! We work on classic cars, many of which were built before the advent of mobile air conditioning or when it was just an expensive option, so we install A/C on classic cars. This is a service that our customers truly enjoy. In today’s world, air conditioning is not an option; it’s a necessity! And Rob’s Automotive Shop is here to help!
We also repair air conditioning in all every type of vehicle. Whether your A/C issues are mechanical, electrical or even vacuum, Rob’s is ready to help! We can help with refrigerant (freon) leak testing and repair, seized compressors, clogged filters, defective temperature controllers, or anything else. We are MACS certified to perform environmentally safe air conditioning repairs. In fact, Rob's Automotive is one of the very few places where you can still get a new air conditioner installed on your old vehicle (some exceptions apply due to parts availability).​​​
